Function
The PSE control module (combined) (A37) receives the instruction "lock vehicle" via the CAN bus. It then activates the inputs for the exterior surface contacts and stop lamp switch.
The PSE control module (A37) also activates the interior motion sensor (IMS) and anti-towing sensor (TS), unless they have been switched off before activation with the ATA interior motion sensor/anti-towing sensor/status indicator switch (S85/2).
When the ATA is activated the indicator LED in the ATA interior motion sensor/anti-towing sensor/status indicator switch (S85/2) flashes.

Activation of the exterior surface contacts and stop lamp switch
The alarm inputs to which the contacts are connected, are activated individually. An input is activated as soon as it has been in the non-actuated state for at least 10 seconds.
Activation of interior protection system (IPS)
As soon as all the doors are closed the transmitter/receiver units for the IMS feature receive a request to switch to the ready state via the data bus. Each unit then returns a message that it is ready for operation. Alarm signals from units not ready for operation are ignored.

Activation of anti-towing sensor (TS)
The TS input is activated as soon as it has been in the non-actuated state for at least ten seconds.

The ATA is not activated when the driver's door is open.
Activation of the ATA leads to termination of any previous alarm.
The ATA is activated again automatically when the power supply returns when it was active before separation from the power supply.
(only):
If a door, the tailgate or trunk lid is opened and closed again after removing the remote control key, the ATA is activated automatically two minutes after the last door, etc. is closed.
