If the remote control key is turned to position 0 in the electronic ignition switch control module (N73), the EIS sends the CAN message circuit "15 R OFF" and switches on the power supply for the electric steering column control module (N26/5). The EIS then releases the ignition key allowing it to be removed. After removing the remote control key the EIS sends a command to the ESC to lock.
The ESC then locks the steering.
