When the trunk lid is opened the contact in the trunk lamp switch (S17/8) is closed causing the trunk lamp (E18/1) to switch on. The switching state is also read in by the PSE control module

(combined) (A37). The trunk lamp can be switched off with the trunk lid open by pulling the switch tappet to the catch position.
