Blend flap vacuum element, function

Function

The blend flap vacuum elements (45, 46) are actuated by the pushbutton control module (N22) via the switchover valve block (Y11). In the open state vacuum is connected to the blend flap vacuum elements (45, 46).
In the phase of transition from the cooling mode to the heating mode and vice versa (mode change) the blend flaps are opened for a short time.
This changes the outlet temperature at the center nozzle only slightly for pleasant temperature control in the passenger compartment.
